Description
Here is a beautiful AKG D190E microphone from the mid 70’s. Like a more flat EQ’d version of a 57 (without the ~5k bump). They are lightweight but rugged, and were very popular workhorse mics throughout the mid 70’s.
Known as a versatile dynamic mic, this is great on amps, leslies, piano, or a variety of acoustic sources. These are a popular snare mic as well, they’d work well all over a drum kit. Some folks have raved using them as internal kick mics too. Great even sound, able to handle high SPL, but they have a generally balanced sound at lower volumes too.
The D190 was made in both E (XLR) and C (small tuchel) varieties. This model features a convenient modern XLR connection.
Internally cleaned and internal foam has been replaced. Includes new clip (different from pictured clip).
