Description
Here is a beautiful 1960’s Sennheiser MD421. The “2” variety of 421’s referenced the large blade tuchel connector, as well as omission of the low end roll off switch. Those large tuchel connectors aren’t being manufactured anymore. Thankfully, this microphone was converted to a modern XLR “cannon” output long ago. I have seen this very well made jack on a few 421’s, and I think the conversion may have been done at the Sennheiser factory. At any rate, here is a vintage MD421 with a much more convenient modern jack.
This one is in marvelous cosmetic condition. New custom made clip completes the package for a plug and play 421, ready to serve great tones of all kinds onto your recordings.
This has been serviced and restored for reliable and proper studio & stage use going forward. Diaphragm and capsule have been meticulously cleaned. This is a problem for a lot of vintage 421’s that don’t have proper full low-end response. Ferrous dust collects on the diaphragm and around the capsule, essentially freezing the microphone from proper use. This one is cleaned, it sounds awesome and full for decades to come. 2 position low roll off is functioning perfectly.
