Here is a prime example of a rare rare rare pair pair pair of MB Elektronik MB215 dynamic mics, made in west germany in the well-kept-secret factory of MB Electronik. These are ultra high quality dynamic mics, incredibly they have a faaaast frequency response up to 18k. Because of the speedy transient air response, people describe these as condenser-like dynamics. All the benefits of high SPL ability, all of the benefits of speedy response, the MB215’s are absolutely indispensable studio tools.

Because of their really wide frequency response (50-18k hz), they are really well suited for lots of acoustic tasks. Acoustic guitar, String sections, Pianos, Drums (stereo overheads with these would be excellent!), or vocals. With this pair you get a huge advantage in a studio. You could use these as a pair for large vocal ensemble, acoustic ensemble, all kinds of sources that need stereo width, dynamic sound but still with a REALLY full frequency range. These are again, just super high quality dynamics that act like condensers in terms of fast accurate frequency response, especially in the “air” range.

Don’t know about MB Elektronik? (Now exists as MBHO). From their website:

“Herbert Haun has been established in Obrigheim since 1962. His education was done at Beyer years ago, since then he was always involved in the production of microphones. MBHO’s chief engineer, Manfred Schneider, was involved for a long time with the famous Dr. Schoeps. This background should give you confidence regarding the products and their quality. The development and manufacture of high quality microphones was and is the essential motivation of all people associated with MBHO. 95% of each product is actually handmade. In the past the MBHO microphone factory had been associated with the well known MB QUART company.”

Both microphones have been cleaned, tested and are sounding incredible.

These include their original case, two high quality K&M clips, and two new, professional locking tuchel-XLR connectors.

An incredibly high quality and incredibly rare dynamic microphone pair from MB Elektronik.
